This year nine Scouts were presented with Gold Chief Scouts Awards. The Cubs won the district and county quizs. Two of our young leaders were presented with Havering Young Citizen Awards and summer camp was in Switzerland.

This year the Scouts won the Swimming gala, the Franklin Shield, the Orienteering competition, Barton Challenge and came second in the county canoe race and district chess. The Beavers won the Beaver sports, a joint Scout and leader team won the Ilford North Forest Boundary Hike and the Scouts Summer Camp was in Switzerland.

This year the Scouts went green with a series of activities at Bedford's park, the Scouts retained the Franklin Shield and came 2nd in that event and came second in the Barton Challenge and one of our ex-Scouts become the first Explorer Scout in Romford District to complete the Platinum Chief Scout's Award.

This year 3rd Gidea Park leaders took part in the 45 mile four inns walk. In the summer our leaders and Ventures both won their class in the Ilford North Forest Boundary Hike and the Scouts came second. Summer camp was in the Forest of Dean and Romford MP Mr. Andrew Rosindell crossed our rope bridge.
